Joint statement by German U15 and Udice

Deepening ties between France and Germany Top Research Universities

On November 29th, we were delighted to welcome a delegation from the German U15 – association of the 15 leading German research-intensive universities – for our first joint members’ assembly meeting in Paris.

Focused on higher education, research, and innovation, the meeting centered around practical discussions on bilateral research collaborations and European-level partnerships. Topics included research and innovation strategies, international collaboration challenges and opportunities, and reflections on national excellence initiatives. The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint statement, emphasizing the commitment to strengthen partnerships between leading French and German universities.

Against the backdrop of global challenges, the joint statement highlights the pivotal role universities play in shaping a positive future. The agreed-upon measures aim to intensify collaboration, deepen exchanges, and advocate for scientific excellence at both national and European levels.
